A Wealth Of Experience
Jogen Consulting CEO Chris Pickering has been resident in Japan since 2004 and in Niseko since 2013.
Originally a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte-Tohmatsu in both the UK and Japan, Chris worked as General Manager of HTM in Niseko until spring 2020. During his time as General Manager, HTM grew from 20 full-time and 40 seasonal staff to 200 full-time and 600 seasonal staff.
Chris was deeply involved in the growth, including the successful integration of Ki Niseko and Skye Niseko into the property portfolio, the creation of GoSnow (now Asia’s largest ski school) and YamaSport, and the purchase of SkyExpress. Chris also lead the creation of the Experience Niseko magazine and tourist information portal.
Since 2020 Chris has been giving advice to both local and international businesses on a wide range of topics including business valuations, marketing, financial analysis and due diligence, operations, human resources, development and real estate investment.
Chris has served as been a board member of the Kutchan Tourism Association, Niseko Tourism and the Sapporo Snow Resort City Committee.
Chris is fluent in Japanese and an independent advisor on all matters relating to Niseko and hospitality & investment in Hokkaido and Japan. When not helping other businesses, Chris spends time with his family and enjoys the outdoors, particularly running and golf.
